Hi, I've had the CMT-BX70DBI hi-fi for about 4 years now, and it's suddenly just stopped making anything approaching any sort of noise.
I've tried resetting it, as indicated in the manual, and tried unplugging everything, plugging in headphones and trying all of the inputs/functions to see whether I could get anything to come out, but to no avail.
Any suggestions? I'd have assumed that the problem is somewhere pre-amp, but as It's plainly out of warranty, it's probably uneconomic to get it repaired, which is a shame, as I'd always previously associated Sony with durability, which doesn't appear to be the case here!
thanks
Richard
Hi Richard
Unfortunately exactly the same has just happened to me. Is there anything I can do to rectify this as it seems to be a common problem.
Hi Richatd and Dom12345 and welcome to the community
I don't have an exact answer but someone on Fixya mentions 'bad capacitors' possibly being the problem.
Have a look here
Hope this is of some help.
Hello, the same has happened to my hifi of the same model too.
Did you find a solution to the problem?
Or do they just want us to buy a new hifi?
Thanks, Aimee
