HT-X8500 A/V Sync button not working

When I first set this sound bar up the A/V Sync button worked as expected, but not when pressed all the lights on the sound bar light up as if it is disabled.

The TV is a KD43XH8505

Is something set up wrong?

No ideas?  I think I've tried everything but don't know what was different to the first time everything was connected.

Hi

I'm not sure I undertand the issue, what do you mean by "button woks as expected, but not when pressed"

Sorry that should be "but now when pressed".

So it worked at first, but now when I press it all that happens is all the lights on the sound bar light up.

The manual explains that a certain number of the LEDs will light up depending the setting which is pretty normal. Check page 24:

I understand this and I used to be able to cycle through with the lights showing what setting it was on, but now all that happens is all the lights light up.

Have you tried a factory reset?

Yes I have tried that. It must be a setting on the TV perhaps which has changed something?...

Apart from the LED behaviour, is there a problem with the A/V sync?

I don't think the TV can affect that aspect of the Sound bar.

Yes it is sometimes very slightly out which is how I noticed that the function no longer works.

I was playing around earlier and I did get it to work again by swapping some HDMI's around. This was by plugging the V6 into eARC and HDMI1 into the sound bar, which is wrong as the V6 has 4K etc and the sound bar should also output Atmos etc using eARC?...

The set up (with the function not working) is as follows:

V6 -> HDMI1

HDMI3 eARC -> eARC on Sound Bar
