I have a Sony BDV-N590 5.1 surround sound setup connected to my TV through ARC. In my settings I seem to have all of the right settings in place. For example, in 'Audio Settings' my 'Sound Effect' is set to 'Sound Mode On'. My 'Audio Output' is 'Speaker+HDMI'.
However, when I play anything in 5.1 there seems to be a variation of different things happening to the speakers on different settings but I never get the right one.
For example, when I have the 'Sound Mode' on 'Auto', I get voices and sound coming out of all the speakers (including the back two) - I don't think this should be the case? When I have the setting on 'Demo Sound', I don't get any sound out of the back speakers at all.
If I set the 'Sound Effect' to 'Dolby Pro Logic', I get the surround sound working out of the back speakers, however, the voices only come out of the centre speaker. I don't get any out of the front right and left speaker.
Can anyone help me?
Hi simulcra,
Setting the sound effect to "Dolby Pro Logic" seems to be the correct setting. It is normal that the voices are coming from the centre speaker only.
Cheers
Peter
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately when I do this, I get no sound out of the front two speakers at all.
I don't really know why?
