Hi,
I have a Sony TV (55 XD85) and just got a new 5.1 surround system (Sony BDV-E4100). I have the TV connected to the SKY Q box via HDMI cable (2.1) and optical cable for audio from the sound system to the SKY Q box. Sound works fine (but I think this might not be the best set up).
Now the PS4 Pro is connected to the TV via HDMI cable and sound comes only from the TV speakers unless, I disconnect the optical cable from SKY Q and put it in the PS4 Pro then we get surround sound from the sound system.
Above is a workaround not a good one, as we use the PS4 for games, and Netflix/ Amazon Prime etc. Sky Q for general Sky stuff, every time we want to use the Sky Q, we must remove optical cable from PS4 Pro and inserted it to the SKY Q, box this is terrible workaround I am sure I am missing something....
Hi jsingh_designer,
Usually the sound from the Sky Q and PS4 should be transmitted via HDMI cable to the BDV.
Therefore you have to connect the Sky Q and PS4 to a HDMI input of your TV that is not labelled ARC.
But the BDV needs to be connected to the ARC HDMI connector to get the sound from the TV.
Now you need to adjust some settings in the sound set-up of the TV:
Cheers

Hey jsingh_designer,
You might want to check the Help Guide for your TV, specifically the Bravia Sync page.
Hope it helps!
