Advice needed on which 55” tv to buy that will have the smallest depth when wall mounted and with sound coming from the front or actual screen as it will be set in a recess and then covered when not in use.
if you want the thinnest you have no other choise than going with OLED.
And all Oled screen from Sony have sound coming out from the screen (Accoustic Surface)
Depends of the money who wanna spend on it you can either pick in 55 Sont Oled AG8/AG9 (2019) or A8 (2020)
First, I was fully expecting to purchase an OLED tv and was not concerned about the cost all I want to know is what is the thinnest and best quality 55" tv in the Sony range. If you are able to help me decide I would love to hear from you again.
Measurements needed are overall width, height and depth also need are details of where cables come out of the back as it will be wall mounted. I am trying to get this tv as close as possible to the wall so that I can make a detachable panel to cover it when not in use.
I checked the width of a few OLED models and found the KD-55AG9 to have a depth of 4cm in its own. Assuming you'll use the SU-WL850 Sony wall mount, you're looking at 6.2cm total distance from the wall when the wall mount is retracted (this wall mount supports multiple positions, including swivel)

I'm not sure I'm following you here. The AG9 has been around since last year, but I don't see how that counts as a negative point if it's a good product.
Very pleased that I did not take your advice as I have now purchased the Q95T with no gap wall fixing so have a depth of 34.8mm and not the 6.2cm you as a so called specialist recommended.

Good for you.
Hi,
just for your information a Specialist is just one of the many titles users can achieve from ranking up in the Sony Community.
When you receive a reply from someone with Specialist, Explore, etc then it’s from a user like yourself who has given up there time to do some research on your behalf..
I think it is a bit much that you would expect someone to research the sizes of all 55’ TV models on the market and then be rude rather than just thank them for your time..
