Latest software can't be installed

I just bought an m5 today and it keeps asking me to update the software. The problem is, the phone dowloads the latest software but I get an error message saying it can't be installed. Can someone help me?

Actually i have tried many times! In fact,  my husband also got the same phone today and he's also experiencing the same problem. To be clear, it's the Sony system software that's not installing.

Just to clear this out, you can't install XC on your computer?

No, I couldn't install the latest sony system software, it would download, but not install. I've tried to do it directly on my phone and also with XC (which I could download and install). But I've already contacted Sony and they instructed me to reboot the whole system using XC, and it worked.
