I am x-owner of sonyericsson Xperia X10.It had screen auto brightness feature with android 1.6.But after its upgrade to android 2.1 and then 2.3 it lost this feature.
Now I have purchased Sony Xperia S.But still I am dissapointed with sony that sony claim it to have ambient light sensors according to original sony specifications from the link_http://http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/lt26/whitepaper_EN_lt26_xperia_s_2.pdf
But still it is not having this necessary feature.
I request sony to include this feature in their upcoming android 4.0 upgrade. Also there should by any fuctionality like Siri in Iphone and S voice in Samsung Galaxy S 3.

you can test it, set it to 10% then use a flashlight on the ambient light sensor
the feature is still there, it just takes longer to re-adjust the brightness (on the Xperia X10)
the Xperia S does have this features but just like the X10 it takes a while for it to adjust the screen brightness
you can use apps like Vlingo for voice commands

How can I activate auto screen brightness on Xperia s?
it should be preset
will it still be active if I set the brightness to 10%?
