notification bar ics

hay ,i can't access the notification bar in the lock screen ,as it is instructed in the video (the one on the ics sonyericsson page) ,i can only pause and play songs in the lock screen ,is it because i am using the face unlock feature ?

Yes....

If you use any type of screen lock or when your mobile is in flight mode, you can't access notification bar from locked screen

It will only work with slide to unlock or no lock

You yourself think, you have had set a lock ( face unlock) due to privacy reasons so that no person other than you could access your mobile.

Now someone sends you a message. If the notification bar is accessible even after putting a screen lock ( means any person other than you could drag it down to see the notification without unlocking it ? ) then what's the use of screen lock if anyone could access your notifications ?
