Win7 Unrecognised LT18a

Hiya all

Searched round and can't seem to locate a solution to my problem.

Updated to ICS 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431) night before last and pc no longer recognises the phone.

Have tried :

- d/load & reinstall of PC Companion

- restart/reconnect of both PC & Phone

- Sony Software update (advises software is up to date)

- unmount of SD Card

- mutilple searches of Google for some form of driver/forum entry

Most likely there's something completely simple I've missed, but if someone has an idea for a fix would be greatly appreciated.

connect your phone -> control panel -> add a device -> make sure your firewall and antivirus is off

Hiya Uli, thanks for responding!

Reconnected and tried add new device (no firewall or antivirus active), phone not coming up.

However "Xperia" does appear under Devices and Printers with an ! indicating code 28 "driver not installed"

Device is being recognised as "LT18a"

Have tried troubleshooting to retreive the driver, but result is  is none found (online or locally).

Have tried removing this device and reconnecting the cable, same result.

ok repair your phone with SUS or PCC that will download the needed drivers

OK run a repair thru SUS and gone thru initial setup on the phone

Reconnected to PC and same issue - LT18a : No driver found

PCC does not see the phone at all.

Still appearing in Devices as Xperia with the !

Driving me nuts!! lol

that's insane

lets try something else, create a new administrator account on your pc -> install sus -> restart your PC and see if it now recognize your phone

Yes, you're brilliant!

Did as instructed, but also removed old SUS & PCC - then set the phone to install PCC on connection

Initially after new account, reinstall SUS, there was no change - but troubleshoot from Device & Printers seemed to kick it across the line 😃
