This is my first post on this forum.
Purchased the KDL 32EX603 on Saturday. Firmware out of date but all worked OK on Internet Video except for I-Player. Downloaded latest firmware from Sony site and installed now I get a Error 5006 message when trying to refresh Internet Content and no access to I-Player. Also very slow loading of other Internet Content sites.
Have read on the net that Error 5006 was commonplace in the US, Canada and other locations around a year ago but is anyone experiencing this problem now? Is there a solution?

Hi
5006 is a spped problem, eirther with your connection to the router or your router to the server, you can check your line speed for free, just search for broadband line checker on any search engine, checking the internel network speed is not so simple, i would advise if your internet speed is faster than 2.5m/bit that your disconnect all other devices connected to your router and reset the router at the mains pluy, restart and try again.

Thanks for your advice which tallies with that given by my local Sony Service Centre.
Implementeed the process this afternoon and worked satisfatorily. Switched off TV and came back to use again two hours later to find original problem back.
Wondering whether this is something to do with the fact that I have a wired connection to a router that has wifi connection to PC. Not just one PC but three can get wifi connection to router as well as a laptop, netbook and iphone. Am I expecting to much from one router? Should I/can I install dedicated, wired only, router just for the TV? I have sufficient telephone points around house to relocate main wifi router if I want to. Alternatively could I go wifi for the TV which is waht I orginally decided to avoid so that I get a good internet connection.
Thoughts?
It depends if the other devices are hammering the connection at the same time as you are trying to use the IP feature on the TV.
Can I suggest you disconnect all devices from your network and run this on your PC - http://www.speedtest.net/
This should give you a ballpark figure of your connection speed. If you have between 2-3mb then you're fine for BIV, but might want to make sure other people aren't downloading or using large amounts of bandwidth simultaneously whilst you are watching iPlayer etc.
Hardwiring the TV to the router is always the best way of optimising the connection as wireless doesn;t give you the same level of security and bandwidth.
Thanks
I am getting this error as well. Everything has been working fine since I bought the TV in November last year. Now suddenly it cannot show or refresh the internet content. I have read numerous topics about it on the Sony forum and some external ones, but with no definitive answer. Many talk about problems with the Sony server in negotiating communication with an individual MAC adress. Some have claimed the problem solved by Sony staff inspecting the communication and then re-registering the client's MAC address on their server; after which the porblem is solved.
You say this is a speed issue. Is this definitive or could the network protocol negotiation be contributing.
I have taken your advice and tested my internet speed. My results:
Download 70.12 Mb/s
Upload: 0.51 Mb/s
Ping: 90ms
My symptoms are:
TV shows all connection tests ok (including internet).
TV shows no internet content and I get the 5006 error on internet content refresh.
I have access to local DNLA content servers on my home network.
Nothing has changed in the last week to my knowledge that could contribute to this.
I connect to my local network via a wired connection to a Netgear wifi converter. i.e. the TV is a wired connection although it is actually connecting to my network via wifi.
5006 Slow Network Speed If You do not have the minimum 2.5 MBPS this symtpom may be displayed
5006 SW Glitch This symptom (same as above) was also caused in some cases by what appeared to be a data
glitch that was corrected by performing a reset on the TV
