KDL-32CX523 - AVI, MKV files no longer play

All of a sudden .AVI, MKV files etc. that I used to watch on this TV no longer play.

I have a NAS connected wirelessly via the dongle, I can see the device & files on screen but when I select a file to play it seems to 'buffer' as if it's loading. After some time the screen turns black and the green 'play' triangle appears in the bottom left corner but thats all, nothing else happens it just seems to be stuck. I've checked some old files I've previously watched but they no longer work. Suspect a dodgy firmware upgrade?

I'd be grateful if someone could advise.

What software are you using? Are you using Homestream or Serviio or something else?

Not sure! It's a Zyxel nas box and has its own software I think.

As this TV doesn't natively support .mkv, it sounds like the issue is with the transcoding software on your NAS most likely.
