KDL-46HX923 Moving to New Zealand

Hi Community,

I have a Sony KDL-46HX923 and have an job offer which would mean moving to New Zealand.  Does anyone know if the TV will work in New Zealand?

I'm happy about the power & will fit a new plug, but will the Tuners work in New Zealand?

It has a DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-C, CI+ & Analog tuners - but that means nothing to me at all as I can't find out if any of those are compatible in New Zealand.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi there

Before the introduction of Digital TV, it wouldnt work.  However New Zealand uses the DVB-T standard (as do Australia).  I cannot 100% say for certain that it works. 

The Advice from the Kiwis Dept of Immigration says it wont : See HERE

But two other Unofficial websites, claim yes.

In deciding this, you would be better to weigh the cost (and a risk/benefits) in regards to Selling the 923 here, and purchasing a new TV over there, in comparison to the cost of transportation (risk of it being damaged in transport as well - IT OCCURS TRUST ME!)
