Hi
I've been testing various Media Servers Including Messmo, (Kept Crashing) and opted for Wild Media Server
during the trial period it worked a treat playing everything i through at it including 1.09 GB mkv files
so i took the plunge and bought the activation codes one for the TV and another for my Blu Ray drive
and now i can't see WMS through the TV I've no idea why (Nor do support at WMS)
If i run diagnostics on the TV it finds WMS but fails to connect stating Server not supported (jpg attached)
I Know it's not a connection issue (Its wired BTW) otherwise WMS would not see the TV I can also access web content on the TV
I know the server is working because the BD can see it
Got drastic last night and reset the TV back to factory settings didn't help
Have you tried Serviio ? Seems to be another favoured one on the boards..
Thanks
Hi it sounds like a firewall or Media server Settings issue, as you may know the server sets up various profiles for products, you may need to check which profile you have for the TV, also make sure the TV is still on the allow list, it should be as the user licence is for each piece of equipment on the network, but firewall is main reason for devices to disappear. Depending on your Operating System check the Network and Sharing centre or Media player sharing options to see if the TV is visible.
I hope this helps
According to KDL-EX40713 FAQ's it's DNLA 1.0 compliant Serviio is DLNA 1.5 compatible
so no i haven't but I'll give it a bash as it's free as others on here use it I'm assuming it's backward compatible?
Hi
I Have WMS loaded on a XP Home PC and a faster win7 64bit & i'm not see it on either.
on the WIN7 PC i can see the limited media player
on Both PC's WMS can see the TV
how / what am i looking for within the firewall? is this windows firewall or could Kaspersky be blocking it?
