hi can any boldly help with the calibration of my sony bravia 40 ex503u no matter what i do it just is not good

Going from memory here are there some test patterns somewhere in the menus for gauging settings.

Or use a DVD with a test pattern such as one of Disney Pixar titles.

Might be a good idea to turn off the auto dim sensor too.
