Hard Drive

Hi all

i got the z11vn, I just wanted to know if anyone knows why my harddisk light is always flashing and there is a noise as if the hard drive is always working?

I have turned off the auto disk defrag as reccommened but there is still something always on. I havent installed anything on the laptop, its standard.

any help would be grateful

the hard disk is making noise as i type this message.

I think, it's the Windows-Vista file-indexing-service. It always scans the hdd and writes filenames ito an index, so they can be found faster. Vista also writes applicationfiles into the RAM to start programs faster if you use them often. So it's normal, that the drive always works, even if you do nothing.

oh i see, I dont have a problem with it, cause i think the laptop is great and very fast, great value for money, just the other half saying its slow lol.
