From memory .....,
Have you tried pressing ‘ASSIST’ button when the Vaio is completely shut down?
This should load ‘Vaio Care Rescue Mode’ and in the list of options on screen is ‘Start from Media’
I presume the USB media is formatted correctly and is a licenced version of Windows?
If this doesn’t work, something is wrong and you will need to contact Sony Support.
Hi bessibossi,
Welcome to the community.
I'm not too sure, but I'll just try to find some answers for you. In the meantime, maybe somebody else in the community may have some ideas.
Thanks,
Pascale

Hi
Yes i have tried pressing assist button but i have never seen the Vaio Care Rescue Mode in my llaptop.I formatted my llaptop a long time ago with usb.I had restarted it and when i turned it on i pressed F10 and it booted from usb.But now i'm trying the same method but my llaptop is just turning on like normal with Windows.I have tried also some other methods that i found in the internet with F11 but it didn't worked.I want to formatt my llaptop and to reinstall my windows because i have so many programs that are bad for my llaptop and i want to clean it.Please can you tell me how can i contact with an agent of Sony Support?
Hi bessibossi,
There are a couple of things to look out for here, first of all you need to make sure the USB drive you are using supports booting from it as I've been surprised to find one of my stick was incapable of this. But assuming you find that it does, you can try pressing Delete while the laptop boots up to get into the BIOS where you can change the boot priority from HDD to USB. (If it doesn't show there, try a different port or test the drive on a different PC to make sure ist's working)
Hope this helps,
