Hi pyszny,

welcome to Club VAIO..

Are you able to start your Vaio in safe mode.?

To boot into safe mode start your Vaio and when you see the Vaio logo press the F8 key repeatedly..

If so you can try running a system restore to an earlier point..

thanks for your reply, i can start in safe mode, but i always get a message saying something about plug and play, and that it needs to shutdown, so i never get enough time to start the system restore wizard. Im gutted, its only 3 months old and im lost without it!

i have a friend with the same laptop, would it be possible for him to make a recovery disk for me to use?

Hi pyszny,

you're Vaio has a hidden HDD recovery partition so as long as it has not been deleted you should be able to recover your Vaio back to the original installed OS and programs just as it was when you first used your Vaio.

To do this Start your Vaio and when you see the Vaio logo screen press F10 repeatedly this normally would start the recovery process..

when i do the f10 thing, it says edit boot options, and then something like:

"[ noexecute:optin"

and im not sure what to do, i can delete the above and type something else in, but i am unsure what to type, any ideas. Thanks for your time and help, i am very appreciative.

Hmmm... :smileythinking:

It clearly states in the recovery guide attached below that if the edit Boot option window appears to press Enter to continue..
