There could be 2 problems with it.
1. The dvd/cd cable is loose or unplugged completely, this could happen sometimes if you drop the laptop or move it a lot around.
2. The dvd/cd optical drive died and need to replace it.
Can u open the dvd drive and does it make any clicking- reading noise at all when u insert discs. If not then the power is not coming to dvd drive then. And need replacing or plug in loose or unplugged cables from inside the laptop.
