For several months, I didn't use my PCV-RX1 to read DVDs.
It doesn't rune anymore for DVDs.
For AUDIO CD, it's OK.
It tried to use help of Windows Media Player, with no success.
I purchased SONIC DVD decoder.
It reads introductio of movies but not more & WMA blocks.
I fear a hardware trouble.
Best regards

You will get more help there
Try copying the files from a video DVD to your hard drive. If they copy successfully then the chances are you simply have a software problem. Just remember to delete the files from your disk after the test because they will take up lots of space.
Please note that the copied files will not playback - its just to test that the drive is reading the DVD correctly.

This will cause you extra work, at least it will proove if your DVD is indeed at fault. Would suggest that you reinstall your computer to Sony's factory settings. If this exercise prooves and DVD is still under guarantee that replacement is normal or at least the DVD requires replacement. Most probable it is a software incompatibility and a reconfiguration of the computer will correct the error.
