Power calibration error FZ21M

hello all,

i got a problem with my vaio FZ21M...
when i burn a dvd or cd, the following error appears : Power calibration error (with any burning software)

i got the same problem a few month ago, and there were an update for the disk drive, after that, everything was all right, but now, there are no update... what can i do to solve that problem ?

Hi Alex,

There can be many reasons for the error message you are receiving, but to narrow down the problem have a look at this LINK

It may be simply be a matter of cleaning the laser lens...

thx for you message, i change my media, and it s gonna be all right...
It is verry strange I user Ritech DVD and with that, i had the problem... it s not bad media...
now i use Verbatim dvd, and it work well

Hi Alex,

I'm pleased to hear that you have solved your problem. For some reason Sony notebook CD/DVD drives seem to be very "media sensitive". Verbatim have always worked well for me also....
