Hello Sony people!
I need some help. I've been searching online, lot's of webpages and videos and still no solution for this.
I have a Sony Vaio Pro 13, working perfectly except... the SD card reader.
Since I upgraded the computer to Windows 10, the card reader does not work.
Its not recognised by the unit, it does not appear anywhere in the computer files and I try and follow possible solutions online but how can I if the card reader does not appear?
Can anyone help me here?
Many thanks!
Not easy without knowing what you have tried.
It seems likely that you have lost the original driver during the upgrade to 10. Have you tried downloading and installing the Realtek PCIE Cardreader driver from the downloads on the support website for your model? Try the latest one available even if it is for Windows 8. It will be something like this driver:
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/svp-series-svp1321-series/svp1321m2e/downloads/Z0003848
You don’t give us the exact Vaio model so I can’t give you a link to your specific support page.
Hello, good evening.
Thank you for your reply.
The model is:
Sony Vaio Pro 13
SVP1321C5E
I went to Sony Vaio support page, and they only have the drive update for Windows 7.
It still not works.
😞
I searched online for possible drivers and after many tries, still dont recognise any card.
What should I do?

If you keep going down the list of downloads you will find a Windows 8.1 64bit driver - this one:-
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/svp-series-svp1321-series/svp1321c5e/downloads/Z0001284
Before trying this one, look in Device Manager and see if there are any yellow warnings that devices are not installed. You may have to install the SFEP driver first:-

Hello again.
I installed those two and is still not working.
😞
Any more tips?
Sorry - you may have to contact Sony Support.
Did you follow Sony’s instructions and upgrade software when you installed Win10?

May be be worth a read before you contact Support. As a last resort a small USB card reader may be a workaround - I tend to use a SanDisc ImageMate All-in-One as it takes every sort of card.
