Hello,
I have the laptop Sony Vaio sve14a2m1eb with a cpu i3-3110M. I want to upgrade my cpu, although, i am confused about the compatibility with the motherboard and bios system, respectively. The motherboard is an Intel Cphiset H76 (Ivy Bridge socket 988B rPGA) with Part Number A1898131A and the Bios is R0202V5. I would appreciate if you can suggested me some supported CPU processors, i.e. i5-3320M, i7-3520M etc.
Thank you in advance
Hi kostas12357,
I'll see if I can track down an answer for you regarding this. Maybe someone else in the community has an idea in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi kostas12357,
Welcome to our community!
I don't think the CPU on your VAIO is upgradable as most VAIOs doesn't support CPU upgrades. Nevertheless, you can consult a Sony service centre on this. You can use this link to locate your nearest one but make sure to set the filter to VAIO.
Hope this helps.

Hi batee5,
Thank you for the response,
I have already checked my cpu (rPGA 988 socket G2) and it's removable (i cleaned it and i applied new thermal paste). I found previous these links:
valid.x86.fr/8grmaz i7-3632qm
valid.x86.fr/uyw7ze i5-3230m
where they are form a sony vaio motherboard and we have the same i) socket, ii) South-North Bridge, iii) TDP / Vcore, iv) Bios and all the other features.
Thank you for the link,
Kostas
