Hello everyone!
I want to upgrade my old laptop, a SONY VAIO VGN-FW21M. I want to add an ssd, and upgrade the RAM and I was wondering what is the maximum RAM that is compatible with this laptop. I've done some research but others say 4gb and others say that 8gb ram is the maximum. Does anybody have some experience on this, or maybe tried it out yourself?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Kostan25,
Welcome to the community.
I'll see if I can find this out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi Kostan25
Sony say that the maximum total RAM is 4GB so I would expect this to be the most accurate information. I have heard users say that they have installed 8GB (2 X 4GB) but I cannot confirm that this actually works.
One of the most reliable companies I have used in the past is CRUCIAL. They guarantee compatibility of their products. Have a look here:-
