Laptop will not function with only the battery connected.
Laptop functions correctly with only the power cord connected and also functions correctly when power and battery are connected - but battery does not charge.
I have now purchased two new batteries (a genuine Sony) and the original and the new ones all behave in the same way. I have cleaned contacts, I have reinstalled Windows 7 x64 (which is the original OS for my system)
Any ideas are gratefully appreciated
