hi guys has anybody a clue for how to disable auto sync permanently because as i see it's on automatically and i couldn't turn off except by draaging the auto sync icon into the quick settings menu and disabling it but again i find that i receive emails as of a sudden when i unlock the screen or on wifi (i don't know why while auto sync seems to be off) what to do to disable auto sync from the settings itself not from the quick settings icon and secondly and most important the annoying and horrendous battery drain i used to charge my phone one every 2.5 3 days maybe more (i once had a charge lasting for 5 days!!!!) on kitkat but it is totally different when i updated to lollipop i can't reach the 2-day mark while my usage to the phone is very light how to deal with this annoying problem?????? if anybody can answer me i'll be very glad and thankful as well waiting for you guys
Hi sameh86,
Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines
Have you tried turning off the Auto Sync within the Settings under accounts?
Menu > Settings > Accounts > Menu Button > Untick Auto Sync Data.
Let me know if this helps.
open Google + > menu > settings > auto-backup > turn it off
also
open playstore > settings > auto update > turn off
last thing to check
settings > accounts > google > check what's constantly syncing.
ok one problem solved but how comes that auto sync is off and i can still receive emails?????
Emails on the Gmail app or which app?
Yes,you will be notified if you enable notifications in the specific email app and stamina is off.
@uliwooly: the main email app
@alexdon: stamina mode is on always and "never show notifiactions to this app" in settings for the email app so how can i manage to still receive emails while auto sync is off and no notifications enabled for the the email app????
i don't know what happened to the battery after lollipop update as an example i flight-moded the phone before sleep last night at 3 am with 91% of battery and when i woke up about 12 pm i was shocked to find the battery charge became 84% what is the solution to this problem as it's verry annoying?????
settings > power management > battery > check the graph and the top 5 items on the list, what it's using up your battery?
the most important battery draining things that i noticed are:
1- user (new user) 22% (there is no other user on the phone except mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
2-google play services 20%
is there a ghost or something that makes a deleted user account drain so much battery juice?????????
No, but you could reinstall lollipop to smoth things out
Bridge (for Mac)
