Ok, go into settings, apps, press 3 dots, select "show system"
Find apps:
Music fx
Headphone selection
And clear data from them.
Go into music,
Plug in headphones
Play a song with a bass and kick drum in it.
Go into music settings and turn on auto optimisation.
Wait the 30 seconds or so for it to optimise.

Hi,

Experiencing the same with my Z5 dual. Distortion only when DSEE is enabled. Din't expect this from Sony. Bought this device for audio quality and camera.

Hello to everybody...

Can someone confirm that after clearing the app data of 1. Audio settings 2. MusicFX 3. Headphone selection or alternatively resetting the phone after upgrading to .185 FW the distortion disappears?

I am testing Automatic optimisation for about 30 mins now and no more distortion......

We have not been able to find anything that would cause this in the latest software, 32.1.A.1.185.

If you still get audio distortion with this version, can you please send me a private message with information on which headset you have and if possible, share a music file that this has happended with?

viridis' post fixed it for me. I've yet to see how long it will work but finally I can hear clear music again!
