Blank screen Z2

Hi, I had a similar issue to this one. An1 has found a solution yet?  If the phone is plugged in the computer, it keeps getting detected by the pc than going off as the red light cycle. If unplugged, phone has no response whatsoever, power buttong, power button up or down, usb plugged while the volume biutton is up or down, any lenght of power button press. If plugged, the red light cycle endlessly. Waited a few hour to charge but battery was about 40 when I had the issue. Tried recovering from pc but since the phone keeps powering down, software companion keeps detecting than it disconnect and it detects again.

Screen of death

I had a similar situation with my new Z2 although nothing to do with the bootloader, rooting the phone etc.
Basically screen went blank after using a magnetic charge adaptor. Anyways depends what country youre in/phone provider.
I got my phone via a plan and was well over 30 mins of use. My phone lasted about 1.5 weeks and my provider have a 30 day exchange policy if a fault is present.
My phone wouldn’t respond regardless of the power button and volume buttons same time. when on charge I got a flashing red light, not the constant orange charge light.
Anyways went to a shop and got a replacement on the spot.
I don’t know if its common with a Z2 as they are just too new yet. Overall im very happy with mine and suspect I just got a faulty phone, it happens.

Yeah, I tried that but the phone keep power cycling too fast for that to work. I can hear heathe peripheral disconnected sound every 3 second as soon as the phone is taking its current. And all physical shortcut seems innefective. I really miss removable batteries.

If done correctly the phone should not be powering on at all during this process. At what point are you connecting the phone?

This is akward. I talked with a representative and he walked me throught software repair. Phone was off, held the volume key, but as soon as I plugged in it did the same thing, red light flashing, windows preipher connected/disconnected every 3 sec or so. I was getting very despaired and the employee was about to escalate my case whenm I heard the phone booting back.

I thought I might have overdrained the battery but I swear it was over 40% when I plugged the magnetic charger. Then when it booted back it was showing over 71%. Anyway, what happened to me was a bug incured by plugging in the magnetic charger, than it went away while it was plugged in the computer charging very slowly as the phone was power cycling over and over again. I believe it might have charged every time the red light was on even if it was for a few seconds and at some point the phone power state changed and it exited the booting issue.

Hello

Yesterday i had this same issue,

Plugged the phone into the magnetic charger and the screen went blank (at that point battery was on 30%),

After that i finaly got the phone back on the battery showed as 0% and also after this happened using the normal micro usb charger it would charge but if the screen turned off/went to sleep it wouldnt come back on again.

Did a factory reset via sony software, this seemed to make matters worse.

Once reset and plugging the magnetic charger back in the charging light would flash on and off again.

I have taken it back to the shop and they are sending it away for repair.

@Sony: this sounds like its more hardware related issue and do you know if sony is aware of this issue?

Hi, I had the similliar problem.

I own a Z2 for almost a month.

I just bought a magnetic charger from ebay and it works just fine.

This afternoon, i put the magnetic doc in the wrong direction (reversed) and suddenly my phone black out.
It can't be turned on, can't be hard reset, not detected on pc, and even the led that supposed to light up when charging is off when charging using the normal charger.
I don't know what to do anymore.

Any idea?

hello, I have the same problem. Yesterday I was trying to charge my Xperia Z2 phone with the magnetic charger (not the docking station) and I remember having tried to charge it up side down as I had difficulties to plug it. This morning, I had a look to my phone and the screen was black whatever if I tried to lock/unlock it or turn it off/on.

I tried this morning the Sony PC companion (v2.1...) but this software cannot detect the phone. However, the light green of the Xperia Z2 shown my device is correctly plugged to my PC.

What can I do? Can someone please advice me? Thanks a lot.
