When tapping call on my phone it can take anything up to 2 mins for it to start connecting. Very slow!

Try a force restart of the phone(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates).

I know exactly what you mean by a delay when pressing call but two minutes seems excessively slow!

How many apps do you tend to have running in the background?

Also as post above suggests, do you restart your phone often? The other week over Christmas, I looked in my system status details and noticed the uptime was about 350 hours! Over 2 weeks since a restart. It's an easy thing to miss.
