Camera problems after update

So after the latest update my phone keeps saying camera unavailable, this was very frustrating when I went on holiday as I kept having to close and reopen the camera app to take pictures!! I bought the phone partly because of the camera. It's still not fixed and it affects other apps like snapchat and Instagram.

I  have the same behavior. But mostly happens when the phone is turned off and I want to take a picture by waking up the phone via the dedicated camera button. Not sure if it is related to having Stamina and all other power management options on.

sony quietly released a big update for z2 now its camera dosent crashes when recording 4k video over 4 mins and improved touch sensitivity but didnt improve low light pictures but  the question is so many problems in z1 when will those be fixed

I used the SUS tool to reinstall the firmware. It performed the update and does a factory reset. I've set the phone the same way and haven't seen the issue.

I do have to day that there are a few differences in behavior. Ex: when screen rotation on, the home screen now rotates (did not see that before)

I'm going to try that now, I'm just backing up everything first
