Hello. I'm new here, so I hope I posted my question in the right forum.
I am trying to install the Google My Maps app on my Xperia ray. I download from the Play Store, but before it is able to install I get the message "Package file is invalid." I have Googled for some answers for this, and I have tried all the basic suggestions such as clearing the data/cache/updates in Google Play services and Play Store.
I really need this app, as I am going on holiday in less than a week and I have planned my itinerary on My Maps on my laptop and I really need to have the offline version on my phone to get around each day. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
PS. Apparently What's New is an app! Sorry, I thought that What's New meant simply new topics of discussion!
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Are you able to download other applications? Have you tried to download the application with another network connection? For example, another Wi-Fi network or via the mobile network?
Thank you. Yes, I can download other apps. I tried one just now just to check. Yes, I have tried downloading with both WiFi and 3G. Neither of them works.
Since you are able to download other applications and you have tried to clear data/cache for Play store and Play services, you might want to try to remove the Google account then add it again.
Otherwise, I can only suggest that you contact the app developer to see if they can give you further assistance:

Yes, I have cleared the cache and data and uninstalled updates, as recommended in most advice online. I will try to remove my Google account and sign back in. Thanks.
