I am new to Android, and I accept this won't be specific to my new Xperia X but I am looking for advice on contacts and the photos (or lack of) that I am adding.
Situation is, I have an Office 365 email account and an Outlook.com email account. The former pulls contact photos from our global address list at work, and seems to synchronise okay to the phone. The Outlook.com account is another story ...
I have added that as an account to the Android contact app. & that has synchronised fine. Photos are not showing though - I have only a few photos in the contact list of my Outlook account so for most I have been editing the contact card (presumably in the contact app.) and adding them manually. To do this, I have browed to my OneDrive account, selected a photo and then saved it as the cropped image once I am happy with it. It shows okay, but does not appear against contacts in the text messages.
Am I missing something basic here? Does the photo for the contact have to reside on the device? Or is the photo being over-ridden by that same contact from Outlook.com where there is no photo present?
Thanks !
Hi @Foxtrot1972,
I hope I understand your query correctly. When it comes to your outlook account I think the best people to speak to would be Microsoft, as you said it is working with the 365 account it would appear your phone is handling the information correctly, but I am not sure what information can be taken from the Outlook.com account.
If the image is on the phone and you manually add it, then it should correctly show in messages, contact cards etc.
