Double tap to wake up issue!!!

Hello ,

I recently got my Z2  and i start facing issue with the double tab wake up, on my 2-3 days i had the device it was working perfectly double tap and the screen wake up! but now i double tap more than 4,5 times but the screen doesnt awake!!

could you please advice about this issue and what is the solution

Do you have a protective case/film? is tap to wake up on? have you restarted your phone ?

yes i have a protecter on the front and back of the phone, and yes its turned on

Hi, 'Tap to Wake' has always been a bit hit & miss i'm afraid.....could be the screen protector you have fitted but on my Z2 i have no screen protector fitted......sometimes my screen wakes first time & sometimes like you it takes 3 -5 times before it comes on.

also a lot of people say the wake up tap does some issues in calls  and

drop calls and proximity sensor

Hi, never experieced those before but have heard about it affecting/cmaking the screen 'come on' during a call thus your face/ear activating apps etc

yes me too, i only got my Z2 for just  5 days, and thank god it works just fine, however this tap to wake up issue  is appeared, but guess what i restarted the phone and its back normally , double tap the screen awake

I'm having the same issue. Sometimes its first time, others can take several attempts.

I find its worse when taking out of a pocket. Like the constant touches whilst in a pocket confuses it that it needs to reset some timer or counter.

I found performance on 4.4.2 better than on 4.4.4.... It use to work everytime but since the update is find it a bit hit and miss, but it's a convenient feature that doesn't annoy me..

So what if I have to tap 4 times instead of 2 I have better things to worry about 😛
