Help please - with entering contacts

Just received my phone yesterday and had a problem getting the SIM contacts from my old W910i phone to the Xperia x10.  Followed the instructions to the letter, then called up Orange and they tried a few ways to get them over, went to the shop this morning to try and sort it out but after over an hour it was to no avail.  The young chap in the store said that it must be based on the database setup -  they must be incompatible.

So I now have to manually input my old contacts on the new phone when I encountered another problem - whilst inputting a contact detail, I pressed something on the bottom left of the keyboard and suddenly I am faced with Korean language.  I went to Settings and set the language to English UK and went back to the contact I was editing, but still faced with a Korean keyboard.  Can someone help please??

Have you tried using the sims in your W995, use SE Sync in your PC companion to transfer and back it up online? Then you can easily sync it back into your new phone.

Try restarting your phone after you change the setting......

Thanks for replying - I attempted that as well and no luck.  But I have another problem - I have decided to retype all of my contacts and amlagamate other lists I had on PC Companion - but I cannot synchronise.  I got as far as the get started mode on the phone but then end up with a blank page on the phone.  I was just about to call Orange and see if I can get any joy.

I'm just throwing things out there... what about bluetoothing them across?  You might need to download Bluetooth File Transfer from the market altho I have managed stuff with the stock one.

If you go to phonebook and press menu (left hand silver key) then select more then import contacts then select sim card?  But I think the sim only gives you the name and one number. Not ideal but a start.

Sync your contacts into Gmail and then sync your phone with Google.

I tried to synchronise via USB - thought that was the easiest but was advised to set up an account on the phone in line with the that I had set up on PC Companion - that didn't work.  Eventually called Sony Ericsson contact centre - and got some help with the Korean keyboard.  But was still having problems with the sychronisation.  I have been working on this for 2 days and thought enough was enough and am returning the phone for something a bit simplier to use.  Just wanted a phone to access email take calls and keep my contacts together.  Thanks everybody.
