Internal microphone echo

I'm told there is an echo / cracking in the distance when I'm speaking on the phone. How do I adjust / reset the internal microphone?

What phone model are you using and android version is your phone running? You can find this information under Settings > About phone.

How long has this been going on? Or has it started happening recently?
