I wonder if root xperia sp is a good idea?

Any advice.

Benefits or advantages?

The age old discussion - What is it you want to do and I'll tell you if root is the right choice - Basically Rooting allows you to uninstall system apps - Rooting is not for installing custom roms - for this you need to unlock your bootloader as you don't need to unlock your bootloader to root on some phones

is rooting and mod to kitkat a wise choice? will it be the same as 4.3?

I don't see what KK will bring you unless there's a feature on KK that you really want that JB doesn't have - And even if there is a feature you want then as they say there's an app for that

is there a way to increase more rams e.g install some apps that can clear the unused backgrd apps?

Is multitasking not going to happen on sp?

When you start talking about custom roms which is what they are then the best thing to do is ask on XDA where the custom roms are - ie: What works and what doesn't

I have my SP rooted, 4.4.4 kitkat installed(the duxton, locked bootloader, play store and a sony album+movies apps). It is a clean android, phone works fine, I can change frequency of CPU etc. Freedom. Automatic brightness works on it, display responses on touch, when it is on the table. Battery life is a small bit shorter, but i can live with it. Without networking it lives much longer.

Xperia SP is my last sony product in my life, The support of the phone ended after ONE update, which took several times to release a working one. We should be running on a working kitkat by now, but the ignorance of the company is colossal.

I rooted my phone yesterday and installed Cyanogemod (KitKat 4.4.4) from here Cyanogemod for Xperia SP with locked bootloader. So far everything seems to work fine. No crashes or reboots. Battery life was so poor with JB 4.3 that now it just seems impossible to do worst. The os looks nice and clean. No more Sony crapware in sight.

Voided warranty, who cares as long as I got rid of that bs os/rom developed by Sony. For me there has been two Sony smartphones; the first and at same time the last one!

Root, Flash, have atleast some fun with your overpriced Sony product!!!!
