Light effects not working

Hi, I have just updated the software on my Sony SP and the light effects won't work properly, I.e. When I have an unread text message, it flashes briefly, but doesn't stay illuminated. Anyone know how to fix this?

Try to factory reset it and before doing that remember to back up your data. I hope this will help.

It used to do the same but after I did the factory reset it's now working fine.

Thanks. I'll try a factory reset and see how that goes. Can someone suggest the best way to back up my data before doing a factory reset. Will a factory reset wipe what I have saved on my memory card?

Use PC Companion for resetting your device, it will give you the option to backup your data.

You can also use the back up and restore application on your phone.

No it'll not wipe the data on the Memory Card.
