i was also a M5 user and i replaced phone 3 times and replaced my motherboard last time and now its gone after a getting caught with a little rain. and service center refuses my warranty now..
i think its a issue with replacing the waterproofing seal and after ths i started discouraging people from buying sony products 2015 onwards. i think you should take back all the M5 devices and recycle them and make it work properly.
If you get your phone inspected/repaired at a Sony Xperia Care center then it should be tested (vacuum test) before they give it back to you, you can contact Sony directly on this >>> Local support

i bought phone via local store in sri lanka ( dialcom.lk ) and what they told me was that they purchaced these devices from hong kong and they have sent it to sony service center there. and last time they replaced my motherboard they showed me a letter showing that sony replaced my mother board ( anybody can just print that kind of letter if they have ms office because there was no way to confirm it was realy from sony).
and now they said my warenty is void because water damge indicator has turned in to red.
(with my observations prior i handed over phone to service i noticed thers a little gap between back glass and frame.)
I'm sorry to hear that, but that's something that you will have to address with dialcom.lk, you should request proof that they were repaired by Sony and not somewhere else, you could contact Sony HK and they should be able to tell you if your phone was repaired by them.
