SBH52 Power Button Not Working

Hi,

I recently bought SBH52; it worked for two months. The power button is not fucntioning at all. I tried holding for 1 min but still nothing happens. I am worring that if the battery drains it will never function anymore therefore I am charging the device to prevent the battery drain. Looking forward to get this resolved. Do I need to claim for the replacement? Please suggest.

Cheers,

V

i've posted on a couple just now with people having the same issue. i solved my problem with a simple trick. hold a quarter to the back of device, right over the speaker. then press power button and see if it turns on. it worked for me and hope it works for you.

I had the same issue after about one month and a few days. Power button refused to work.

Returned it to the store i purchased it from and after 10 days they gave up trying to repair it and gave me a new set as a replacement. I'm covered for a year so i can return it again and get a replacement if it fails again.

The shop guys did try to blame me and say that i used too much force to press the button.

I've been using sony bluetooths since 2007. Not new to bluetooth devices by any measure.

I believe there is a hardware issue with the power switch. Not sure if it's Generic or a particular batch number.

They never did tell me what the cause was! Face_with_rolling_Eyes

Power button failed again on the replacement unit. Returned it once again as it is still under warranty till June 2015.

This is the second unit with the exact same failure. Hope Sony works on this issue.

It'sm a real pain to keep hoing back to the store with the same problem. Second unit that was given to me also was new.

Awaiting my 3rd unit / second replacement.  Thinking_Face

Am on my 3rd SBH-52 unit now!!!  Still no official word as to what caused the power button to fail. I guess it to be caused by perspiration... not so splash proof after all. Anyways my store told me i can return and get a replacement as many times as i wanted within the warranty period..... lets see unit  # 3. Bought a Z3 Dual. So the nfc makes connecting a breeze. Even turns on and pairs / connects unit if it is switched off. I'm surprised there's not many complaints regarding this issue of the power button failing. Guess not many are buying this otherwise awesome headset! Slightly_smiling_Face
