squeaky sounds produced while typing

Hi all,
As above I have been experiencing squeaky sounds every now and then when typing on my xperia z1 keypad since I updated to android 4.3. Not sure if it's cause of the update or the phone itself as I bought this phone around a week ago. Anyone able to advise me on this? Many thanks!

There was no squeaky sound before?  Because there is key press vibration even on 4.2.2.  You can change it in settings.

Yup I am aware of the vibration on 4.2 as I went to adjust my vibration intensity. But the sound I now got since the update wasnt the normal vibration sound. It was the squeaky sound which shouldn't be there cause it sounded very weird.
I tried searching for "squeaky sounds from xperia z1 " on YouTube and got a few results.

Does it sound like a hardware problem or something else?

I have the same issue and i occured after i updated my phone to 4.2.2 257. So now i have just shut of the vibration touch feedback.. But it still squeaks sometimes when it rings and vibrates. So i belive this is a software glitch but not 100% sure.

I'm having this problem when typing. Also happened after updating android. Driving me crazy. Why hasn't Sony responded with a fix - or at least an explanation?

Given that this has happened after running a repair that does make it unlikely to be a hardware issue and as such I would advise running a software repair to reload the firmware.

Sam, for the technically inept of us, please advise how to run a software repair to reload the firmware? Please explain it to me like I'm 5.

No problem:

To upgrade the phone software

  1. Install PC Companion on a Windows PC from Support at http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
  2. Turn on the phone, and connect it to the PC using a USB cable.
  3. In PC Companion, select Backup & Restore and click Start.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to backup your phone data before upgrading the phone software.
  5. When you have backed up your phone, in PC Companion, select Support Zone and click Start.
  6. Under Phone Software Update, click Star
  7. Continue
  8. Accept data removal
  9. Next
  10. Wait for prepare
  11. Select Phone
  12. Follow the connection steps
