Hi,
I am experiencing the same issues as described by ranetka12.
The touchscreen of my black Z1C starts going totally "mad", sometimes when i unlock, and even sometimes while I am using it.
It then does those strange "phantom inputs" - meaning it swipes up and down the notification bar and/or menu, turns on/off wifi, bt etc. It doesn't stop on its own. Only putting it in standby and waiting for more than 5s before unlocking again helps.
This effect is not reproducable, it appears randomly and with varying frequence over the day (sometimes once, sometimes about 10!! times)
Since this effect already started right when I first powered up the phone after buying it, its totally impossible that any apps and/or settings I did are causing it. Still I did a complete master reset. Didn't help at all. I also tried using the Safe Mode, the effects are still happening.
I am using the newest firmware 14.3.A.0.757.
I am not using any additional screen protector. And my phone is from Amazon Germany, if that is of interest.
What is of most concern for me, is the fact, that several people on other forums say they had the same issue, send their phone in for exchange/repair, got it back, but they STILL have the issue!
people who have the touch screen issue when opening the screen/cant get the alarm off here is your answer, well at least it worked for me.
If you have a cover for your phone remove it. I have roxfits cover (chek it here:http://www.roxfitstore.co.uk/xperia-z1-compact-book-case/), and the problem seems to be that, WHEN your screen is open and you close the case to your screen it messes up with the motion sensor on the screen.
One person said that he'd try to take it off for night and see can he shut the alarm and I did it too. Not any problems with it. If there isnt anything on the screen when it goes on, the phone works just fine.
I've tested it too, jsut opening the screen and then just opening the case, my phones goes crazy.
I dont' know, if its just (SOMEHOW) the roxfits case (which is really weird) or all that has flip cover.
Funny thing also is, that my boyfriend has the same phone (only that he has black and I pink) and the same cover, only different colors, and he haven't had ANY problems with his phone. none at all. And I also tried the trick with the flip cover on his phone and nothing happened.
So people, what is the color of your phone? Is it PINK?
Here is also the same conclusion that i made: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643078
Also, here is one of the videos I've filmed when my phone has gone crazy: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qahps9mciyg0lns/MOV_0008.mp4
And here also link to the other one with same topic on sonys site: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1-Compact/Alarm-doesn-t-turn-off/td-p/633645
I have same problem here. The display sometime lose the touch. I had just repaired with companion without any result.
I don't use cover or any other screen protector.
Someone know if the issue is recognized by sony?
I'm waiting for a sony response... Someone have good news for this problem?
Hello... even after the update to build 14.3.A.0.757, the problem of touchscreen losing touch still persists?
can someone else pls confirm the same and advise when the update or fix will be available from sony?
understand sony will be shortly releasing build 14.3.A.0.761.
any idea if this will solve the touch screen issue?
i seem to have solved the issue... wiped by phone to factory reset with the SUS (Sony Update Service)... pls factory reset with SUS and not PC Companion...
on restart after wiping and installation, the firmware was upgraded to kit kat 4.4.2 build 14.3.A.0.757...
after the reset, the phone is working beautifully... sound is ok (some crackling observed)... toucscreen is working flawlessly...
the z1 compact is a great phone... i am sure will improve further as more updates roll-in...
Problem solved for me! I bought atfolix screen protector and now the touch screen works well.
I can write with swipe now! 🙂
