unlock bootloader failed / mobile phone won't start up

Hi,

I've tried to unlock the bootloader of my Xperia S. (I did a Reset/Repair via  PC Companion before this)

-> I had some struggles with quite a few apps - after the repair, it was fine again.

For the unlocking I followed the offical steps in developer.sonymobile.com

(steps also described here: forum.xda-developers.com)

But somehow it got stock at step:

fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

cmd only replies with: <waiting for device>

Since that I can't start up the phone...

I also tried the "FlashTool" (guide lines: www.xperiablog.net)

But when trying to flash in flashmode it says:

11/031/2014 23:31:40 - INFO  - Device connected with USB debugging off
11/031/2014 23:31:40 - INFO  - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode

So I guess my problem is that my phone isn't in USB debugging mode as it also is shut down and I can't get it started...

Is there any possibility to reset it completely (firmware, bootloader, drivers on my Windows 7 OS, and whatever else is needed...)? Or did I just break it completely?

I don't mind which status it will have (locked or unlocked), I just want the phone to work again Worried_Face

Use Emma http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/

Be sure to follow the installation instructions or it won't work

Thx for your answer,

though also Emma can't "access" my phone (it is not listed)

Since I posted my question on Tuesday I managed twice to start the phone:

1. battery was low - shut down almost immediately 😕

Then I plugged it to the charger for a few hours

->strange: in the first ~30 min the Info Led was on (red), after ~30 min it was off

-> nevertheless I let it load for a few hours (max. 3h)

Reminder: at this moment the mobile is still off.

2. After a couple of tries "Power Button + Volume Up" it started up and the battery was charged at about 40%

-> strange: I tried this over and over and nothing happens, but suddenly it worked.

Unfortunately to reset my phone, it has to be switched off, which I did.

Now I'm in the same situation:

Can't start mobile, it isn't recognized in any programm (Emma, PC Companion - repair function,...)

Also what is quite interesting:

When I plug in the USB cable, the LED is not on any more (I mean not at all - not even at the beginning)

I'm struggeling with this more or less a few weeks now (at first it wasn't that bad)

I also had the situation before, that the LED is not on when USB cable plugged in, though I somehow managed to start it up... (after a couple of tries "Power Button + Volume Up" worked at sometime or another)

summary: phone off, not recognized by any programm, LED not on when USB plugged in 😕

Any suggestions?

ps:

I know I probably should go with a new phone, but I want this to work again since I'm pretty sure it is possible to fix it - just problems with the starting... (when started, it works fine)

fyi:

just now I connected the phone again to the wall charger and the LED is back on (red)

-> I'll just leave it for about 2h (until then probably the LED is off again), then I'll try to reset the phone.

I have to play it clever:

I guess after starting, I am not allowed to shut it down again as i it will be unavailable again for the next day or so... (assumption)

Thinking_Face

I have no ideo what is going on in this device...

My next steps:

  1. let it charge for ~2h
  2. disconnect phone
  3. connect the USB to the PC
  4. connect USB to phone (holding Volume down)
  5. try to repair via PC Companion

eather I try it via PC Companion or Emma Flashtool

Wish me luck...

You are free for suggestions 😉

Alright, it started again now - took quiet some time...

it was at 0% battery - recharged it to almost 100%

Emma still doesn't recognize my phone.

I tried it via this instruction (Step 2. Boot into Xperia S Recovery Mode Using ADB)

it executed the console, but then the phone had to reboot - same issue -> no reaction then

I removed the battery and atteched some 5V devices to it (intending to drain the battery) and later try again the hard reset.

Then I put the battery back in - did a hard reset -> mobile started up... (I think  it was the first try)

-> not yet sure on what it depends that my phone boots 😕

I think I also have some sh*t together with my drivers, actually I got really confued with this...

Which drivers should be installed?

I also had a look at this Sony Mobile FlashTool "Flasher by Androxyde":

I get following logging message when connecting the phone to the PC:

Any ideas?

I'm afraid I can't just reboot my device as it always gets stuck then... Thinking_Face

I've heard there is a possibility to enter recovery mode when the phone is starting (also described here)

Does anybody have experience with that?

I'm done for today, but...

My phone is currently running and I have an alarm clock available the first time this week (tgi Friday), so I got that goin' for me, which is nice...

fyi: I wasn't able to solve the issue...

Now the phone is running, but I don't dare to let it shut down... 😕

I also did not install apps which made problems before.

I guess I have to get a new one in the next couple of weeks...
