At the moment, PC Companion and Update Service does not support software update/repair of Sony Xperia P, Sony Xperia J or Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman in Windows 8.1.

Many people have upgraded to windows 8.1 and cannot use update service.

And it's not SEUS problem.

We need answer - when it will be fixed ?

Disconnect from the usb..

In ur xperia under settings>Xperia Connectivity>USB Connectivity

Change media transfer mode to MASS STORAGE MODE..

Now u can connect ur xperia to windows 8.1 pc..

It wil connect and u cn perform all the functions in pc companion like updating ur phone software,etc
