will my headphone socket ever work?

Ok so since day 1 of owning this great phone the headphone socket has never worked. I'm a bit of a geek and followed all the steps recommended to try. And now I'm thinking maybe I should just put it in for repair?

How do you mean that it doesn't work? Are there no sound when you connect a headset/headphone? Have you tried different headset e.g? But if it has not worked since day one, you might want to visit nearest service center to have the phone examined by a technician.
