Hi all,
So I've had this Z3 for a couple of months now, was purchased from Hong Kong advertised as "new" but given the age of z3's I wouldn't be surprised if this is a reconditioned model or something
I've had a couple issues that all started up yesterday and wondering if any light can be shed on the matter.
So yesterday the whole device froze, which was quickly resolved by hard resetting the device. However, after resetting the screen started to flicker. not too big a deal as the edges of the screen appeared to illuminate a little brighter than the rest of the device since initial purchase.
Fast forwad to this morning where my alarm goes off. I do as any normal being does and attempt to swipe the "stop alarm" bar to find touch isnt responding
I hard reset the device again to find that the screen still is unresponsive... awesome
Do a quick search online and find that the most recommended remedy for this issue is to use Pc Companion to repair the software. So I do this. A few hours later I'm greeted with a reset phone with not only a non working screen but its flickering like crazy now
How can I test to find out if the issue is in fact the digitiser?
what else would you recommend to resolve this issue
I would like to point out that the phone lives its life in a heavy duty case, and has done since purchase. so no damage has been caused to the device
Thanks in advance!
Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test touchscreen
also, just because a phone has a protective case, it doesn't mean that it can't get damaged.
how am i supposed to get to settings when the touch isnt working?
or is this through pc companion?
phone has never been dropped or anything that could even slightly suggest its issues. My apologies, should've made that clear in the initial post
If the screen (digitizer) isn't working, then it is a hardware issue, contact your Local support to get it inspected, cracks can happen w/o dropping the phone, if you sit on it, or bump into something, but it'll be better to get it inspected.
