Dear all,
I have the phone for 2 weeks. At first i thought that my phone settings are off. But after spending some time on it and trying to apply different settings, i found that the problem still persists.
The problem is as follows: when i push the power button (or when i plug in the charger)the screen turns on. I have set the sleep time to 15 seconds, but the phone never goes into sleep mode. The screen remains on untill i press the power button to block it.
This is really troublesome because while keeping the phone in my pocket, the power button gets pushed, and when i take the phone out of the pocket, the battery is drained.
Ps. i tryed doing this with the "smart backlight control" on and off. There is no difference. The first thing i did when a received the phone was to make a software update.
Any ideeas?
If i can't solve this, then the phone goes back to the shop.
Thank's
That seems an app issue that keeps your screen awake
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I would suggest that you first of all try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

Thank you for your replyes.
I tried starting the phone in safe mode and the result is the same. The screen won't go into sleep mode by itself.
Any othe ideeas? I'm afraid that this issue could be caused by a faulty sensor.
In this case please try a firmware repair:
1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem with my Xperia Z2 bought last week. I tried every possible setting but the screen doesnt'go into sleep mode. Also when i start the phone, i have a "power off" button on the screen. When I press it, nothing happens.
I tried the repair with pc companion twice yesterday but the problems still exists.
When i stop the process "com.sonyericsson.startupflagservice" , which is responsible of the "power off" button, the screen go into sleep mode with the setting i chose!!
It is only a temporary solution, if i reboot the phone it happens again.
Thank you in advance for your help.
I am having the same issue. Did anyone find a solution? I am using 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware.
