Accidentally restarted phone while taking pictures underwater

This morning I went swimming at pool and decided to takes some pictures with my friend underwater. But then I accidentally placed my finger on the power button. My phone now has a problem. After putting it in a bowl of rice for half of the day I took it out. My phone cannot be turned on because it detects there is a phone cover closed over it even though there isnt any. What should I do? Or should I just go to the service centre?

How do you know it won't power on because it detects a cover?

Power button should activate even with cover.
