I am not 100% certain what you are talking about, but it seems like your screen will not lock when you are charging the phone, is that correct?
Can you please go to Settings > About Phone and tap on the "Build number" several times until it says "You are now a developer". Then, go back to Settings and there will be a new option called "Developer Options". Go in here, and see if you can find the option called "Stay awake". If this is on, turn it off.
