I have an LG, Samsung and a third-party Quick Charge 3.0 compatible charger. All chargers work on all 3 other devices (Samsung charger can quick charge LG, etc) - all except for my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. Both their service center and customer support claim that I need to have a Sony Quick Charger, specifically the UCH12, for it to fast charge.
I don't see any reason why this should be the case. Sony uses the same Qualcomm chipsets as other brands, so there seems to be no reason that other QC 3.0 compatible chargers don't work with the Sony phone, unless Sony deliberately locks out other brand chargers. Has anyone experienced the same issue or is it just me?
How do I see that the device actually Quick Charges?

I am using the UCH12 that came with the phone. It charges very fast up to 60% and then way slow after that. Is this Quick Charging?
Where did you buy your phone?
They only shipped the UCH20 charger with mine which is an ordinary 1.5A USB charger.
I bought a Blitzwolf QC3.0 charger, but I'm not seeing any noticeable difference to the 2.4A USB charging ports I'm usually charging it on.
If it's quick charging you'll see "Fast Charging" on the bottom of the lock screen (the screen you see when you awaken your phone and key in whatever lock code to unlock the phone). You'll also see a circle around the lightning icon you normally see on the battery in the notifications pane when you charge.
As far as I know Sony did not ship a fast charger with any of their recent phones. It should be a regular 5V 1.5A charger. But yes charging is nornally faster in the earlier phase than the later phase

I bought mine on Amazon
Got mine through O2 and that came with the UCH12 charger too.
Interesting.
Just plugged in my device, and it doesn't say anything about quick charging. Charges normally at 1.2A.
Though I have to admit that it fills pretty fast even with only that.
I think that Sony Xperia does not provide such charging informations in lock screen and Status bar... And I think that they have to add that feature.
Guys, you can install the app Ampere to check the current value.
