Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling. 

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1 Compact; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 Compact and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1 Compact, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1 Compact, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

Is there a way to get new message/email / voicemail notifications to be displayed, either constant or intermittent, on the sleep screen?

My location status icon is not working properly.

After I turn location on,  it's shown on the status bar, but when I turn location off. It never disappera until I restart phone.

After some restarts, it's broken on both states. It isn't shown on the status bar.

Please help.

Can anyone tell me by purchasing the XZ1 Compact, can I use the USB C to hardwire HDMI for watching film/TV. Not sure the displayport is enabled for this model?

You can use MyPhoneExplorer to sync with Outlook.

Hi,

Really love this Xperia XZ1 Compact, but a few things I would like to check out first before I'm making my decision:

1.  Does this device support VoLTE and VoWiFi?  Especially the VoLTE and VoWiFi provided by DiGi in Malaysia?

2.  Does this device support Shutdown Alarm?  Meaning the alarm will still goes off even if the device is power off?

3.  Does this device have Scheduled Power On/Off?  Meaning that I can schedule a time for the device to be automatically power off daily?

My last Sony phone was a Xperia Z3 Compact, which do not have these features and that's the main reasons why I moved away from Sony.....

Hi, just unboxed my new xz1 compact after using the Z5 for over 2 years. I cant believe the quality of this phones screen 😐 can someone help explain if this is just mine or just what to expect. A lot of images, especially on insta are laggy and you can make out the pixels, not what i expect from the NEW sony XZ1 compact. On youtube, all the video are laggy in the pic and take a moment to 'compose' hoping some one can explain this.

I bought my XZ1 compact from Best Buy back in October. I use my phone on T-Mobile here in NYC. My phone is still on August security patch. I still don't have the camera distortion fix. Finally, my Bluetooth issues have not been resolved.  What gives? Please do not give the me standard "we can't comment on release schedules for updates" response. I'm on the verge of just selling the phone because it doesn't seem that Xperia Mobile USA cares about software updates for their user base in the United States.

What is the best tool or app for monitoring battery life and optimize it? Using accubattery for many years but i´m not sure if this app really doesn´t monitoring it right or without consuming a lot of battery life...

HI, I have just put my old sd card from my z3 compact into xz1 compact on first start up, along with sim.

when going to storage settings and sd card its is not recognized and wants to re format.

I'm trying to avoid losing contacts. there are some contacts on the phone but cant be sure if they came from google sync. when ive searched problem it say go to import in settings but there is no import setting to choose

any ideas where I've gone wrong?
