[Bug] Distorted thumbnails (possibly with upgrade)

Hello,

I recently purchased Xperia ZR, and it came with stock Android 4.1.2.
It notified me of updates sequentially to 4.2.2, 4.3 and then 4.4.2.

I installed all the system updates as well as the updates for Album, Walkman, etc.

Only after all the updates did I notice that the thumbnails in Album, Contacts or the contact pictures on notifications are distorted.
But this is completely random, one image might be distorted at a time, but appear clear other times. I have not seen this issue with full images, but due to the randomness I cannot be sure.

Since I didn't spend much time on the phone prior to updates, I'm unsure when this problem was introduced or if it was there since the beginning.

I have attached snapshots showing the issue in Album and in Contacts.

Please suggest how to fix this.

I had tried without the SD card as well. This issue was seen for images on Phone memory as well.

Anyways, the seller refunded the amount :smileyhappy:. Might have been some hardware issue.

Thanks for the reply. Cheers.

I downgraded to 4.3 and still see the same issue Slightly_frowning_Face
Also, its not just thumbnails but sometimes the wallpaper becomes distorted as well. Crying_Face

I don't understand how it could be a hardware issue, as only a particular image is distorted and the rest remains same. Also, only specific images are distorted. Face_with_rolling_Eyes

I do not have manufacturer warranty, so I'm avoiding taking it to the dealer as it would take weeks before I get the phone back.

Somebody please suggest what could be the reason and/or solution for this.

Thanks

Already tried. That doesn't help.

And the issue remains even after upgrading the firmware.

Hard to say what could cause this. Do you have any SD-card in your phone and if so, have you tried to remove it? Perhaps the phone is having problems reading the files.
